My story

Meet Layla, a sweet and loving 3-year-old Heeler, Shepherd, and Pit mix who is looking for her forever home. Sadly, Layla ended up in the shelter in October 2024 when her owner went into hospice care, but she’s ready to move on to a new chapter and find a family to call her own. She is spayed, up-to-date on vaccinations, and ready to bring joy into your life. Layla is a fan of walks, she’s also a great companion for car rides and adventures, doing wonderfully on outings like trips for a pup cup! Layla is a good eater and loves treats like apples, peanut butter, yogurt, and cheese. When she’s not playing or walking, she loves to bask in the sunshine and will fall asleep in the most adorable, awkward positions. She is incredibly smart. She really wants to be with her people at all times and is very adaptable to what they are doing. She will tirelessly (seriously, the energy does not run out) run or walk or play if that's the vibe, but she also has an off switch and can nap in her favorite spots for days. Layla is also cuddly though with great manners, she generally listens to "No" and doesn't beg. Still pulls on the leash and enters a rapt frenzy if a deer or squirrel passes. She does react to dogs on walks but her foster family has always been able to control her and move on. Please note that Layla should be the only pet in the home.
