My story

This darling, docile, 50-pound black Chow Chow was rescued with moments to spare from the Montgomery shelter. Fun loving, affectionate, and full of personality, Eclipse adores people—including children. She loves attention, belly rubs, and cuddles. She enjoys playing outside in the fresh air and will greet you with a happy, wiggly welcome every time you walk through the gate! She even tried sneaking out with the kids, but when she was scooped up and carried like a baby, she didn’t mind one bit! Eclipse gets along well with other dogs and has been exposed to cats—possibly for the first time. She doesn’t chase them but may bark at them from her kennel. She’s still learning leash manners, but she listens well, and she is especially receptive to non-verbal cues like leg pats and playful noises. She’s a little hesitant at first, but with gentle encouragement, she warms up and becomes a cuddle bug. After enduring a life of neglect, Eclipse doesn't know what being a dog is supposed to feel like. She may not always want to come inside gleefully, but once she does, she happily hops on furniture and demands hugs! Eclipse is ready for her chance to shine.
