My story

“He is one unhappy dog,” said Stanley’s former adopter.After being abandoned, Stanley spent eight long months in the pound before finally getting his shot at a home. Sadly, he was returned just a month later for destructive chewing and not being housetrained.But when we look at Stanley, we don’t see an unhappy dog—we see a boy still brimming with love.Stanley isn’t broken. He’s just a dog who’s been through a lot, and he needs someone patient and kind to help him feel safe again. Separation anxiety is very real, and in Stanley’s case, it may mean investing in durable chew toys, setting up a safe routine, and possibly discussing anxiety medication with your vet.He’s open to meeting kids and other dogs, and with a slow introduction, he could likely live with cats, too.Stanley is searching for someone who won’t give up on him.
