He was an absolute gentleman on our car ride to Starbucks for a pup cup, sitting calmly and enjoying the trip. (All car photos were taken while we were safely parked.) The staff couldn’t get enough of him—they thought he was incredibly handsome! Hozier continues to make great strides with his behavior. During our walk, he was at his best. Not once did he mouth or attempt to chew on his leash—such a great improvement! Back at the building, we played in the living room, and by the end of our time together, Hozier was peacefully snoozing on the floor. It was the calmest I’ve seen Hozier since he arrived at the rescue.  4/21/2025 Kennel Break Feedback: Hozier was very sweet. He was great in the car and loved getting a Pup Cup. We went for a walk in the park, and he was great walking on the leash. He liked stopping many times to sniff lots! Hozier got very excited and jumpy when passing other dogs in the park, so that he could work on, but otherwise, he was good! Hozier was a sweetheart at my house and loved playing with lots of toys. 4/18/25 Building Volunteer Feedback: Hozier is one of my favorites, he's so full of happy energy! His different colored eyes and his soft white coat will make him a hit with everyone he meets! He loves people, is an excellent walker, loves fetch and tug, and has the cutest zoomies. Hozier tends to bump and gently mouth people to show affection, so if small children are around they'll need to be aware that he needs time to chill out. I don't know if he'd be inclined to escape, but his jumping ability might warrant a 6ft fence. Hozier is a very good boy who can't wait to have people to love him and a place to show off his speed!   4/17/25 Building Volunteer Feedback: Hozier had an amazing day full of adventures! We went on a lovely walk, enjoyed a fun car ride, and had a great time playing afterwards. He was so excited to meet someone new—he gave me an enthusiastic jump at first, but quickly settled down and showed off his best manners when redirected. Hozier absolutely loved getting pets and attention! The only moment Hozier got  a little mouthy was while putting on his harness, but it was playful and he’s learning how to redirect that energy. On our walk, Hozier was a dream—no pulling, just happy tail wags and the occasional sniff break. Even when tempted by things on the ground, he responded quickly to redirection and went right back to walking like a pro. In the car, Hozier was a total champ. He loved taking in all the smells. When we stopped for a pup cup, he got excited but remained polite and well-mannered the whole time. 4/6/2025 Volunteer Feedback: I've only had shift with Hozier a couple of times, but tonight, I took him to a Social Hour class. Hozier rode really well in the car, only sitting on me when we parked because he figured out we were getting out of the car and was ready to go! :) This sweet, energetic guy did really well on redirection and listening to the multiple volunteers who worked with him in class tonight. We were working on some of Hozier's leash manners as well as his jumping when excited. Hozier was doing well listening to the commands "Sit" and "Down", even showed he can, for the most part, "Lay down" but it is a little short-lived.  To view additional dogs available for adoption, please see our website: www.4luvofdog.org May 29, 2025, 11:19 pm
