My story

Balou is a calm and easygoing lady who loves to take in the world at her own pace. Whether she’s lounging on the couch, watching the world go by from the window, or enjoying a peaceful stroll, Balou’s relaxed demeanor makes her the perfect companion. She’s not a barker and remains unfazed by passing pedestrians, making her an incredibly chill presence in the home. When guests arrive, she welcomes the extra attention with a wag and a smile, enjoying any extra pets and love. She does not jump up on people or overwhelm them when they enter the home. This sweet girl loves to nap, often found snoozing with her legs up in the air in complete relaxation. A responsible lady at heart, Balou is content to keep to herself when left alone in the house. Her favorite activities include chewing on a bully stick and enjoying a tasty Greenie treat after her walks. Balou weighs around 85lbs and is house-trained. She gets along well with her foster brother and is generally unbothered by other dogs. She loves going on her walks so she would even be an amazing companion in a home without a yard. Baby Balou-ga, as her foster mom lovingly calls her, is currently seeking a medical foster home or a foster-to-adopt family while she receives treatment for heartworm. Sammie’s Friends will cover the cost of her treatment, so all she needs is a loving family to give her the care and attention she deserves.
