My story

**Meet Jacksonville – The Fluffy Black Cat with a Big Heart**Jacksonville is a sweet, fluffy black cat who’s come a long way from the hoarding situation he was rescued from. After having spent two months in a calm and loving foster home, he’s learning what it means to feel safe, cared for, and—most importantly—loved. While initially shy, Jacksonville has made incredible progress and now shows his affectionate side, especially when treats are involved (squeezy treats are his absolute favorite!). He’ll start purring the moment he gets one, gently nuzzling into you as if to say “thank you.” It’s truly heart-melting.**What Jacksonville Loves:*** Mealtime! He’s vocal and excited when food is served.* Cozy naps on the couch or in his kennel.* Playing with feather toys and yarn.* Building trust at his own pace—with treats as the gateway to cuddles.Jacksonville is fully litterbox trained and gets along fine with calm dogs, though he’s hoping for a home without a high-energy pup. He hasn’t been around other cats or kids, but with his gentle temperament, he may adjust to the right match over time.He would thrive in a quiet home with a patient person who’s happy to let him come out of his shell on his terms. Once he does, you’ll be rewarded with love, loyalty, and the cutest purr-and-snuggle sessions. Here`s what his foster family has to say:`While Jacksonville first came to our home very nervous and shy, his personality and playfulness came out in abundance! He is very vocal and precocious. While he used to spend all day hiding under the couch now when I come into the room he is lounging on it and meowing to greet me.He has learned that people are kind and fun and he even seeks out attention from me now, often coming up to me and meowing to greet me when I enter the room. Jacksonville put on a big tough guy act but he becomes excessively cuddly when introduced to treats and he is opening up and being more vulnerable as he has become more comfortable. He has melted our heart with his cuddles, biscuit making, purring, and nuzzling his little head up against your chest. He is so incredibly sweet and wants so dearly to love and to be loved, and he’s learning how to do it more and more every day.`
