My story

Cuteness OverloadMeet Peppermint Patty and Sally! Double the snuggles! Double the wags! Double the laughs! Double the love! Double the trouble... just kidding! Peppermint Patty and Sally—presumed mother and daughter—were found as strays in Oklahoma, seemingly abandoned and relying on each other for survival. Thanks to one of our amazing rescue partners, they were quickly brought to safety and made the long journey to their foster home in western Maryland. Due to their inseparable bond and all they’ve been through, we’re asking that they be adopted together. Peppermint Patty Patty is a chihuahua/rat terrier mix, around 5 years old and weighing about 10 pounds. She’s got a ton of energy, but knows when it’s time to kick back and relax for a Netflix binge. Patty loves to play, play, play—she could do it all day—and she’s always ready for a walk or an adventure. Mischievous and curious, she’s full of playful energy, and you’ll often catch her roughhousing with her humans or running circles with Sally. She even plays with her 60-pound foster brother! Patty is an absolute snuggle bug who loves to be near her humans. Wherever you go, she’s never far behind. She’s almost completely housebroken. Likes: Eating Zoomies in the backyard Fresh bananas Stealing slippers Sally Sally Sally is also a chihuahua/rat terrier mix, about 2 years old and weighing roughly 8 pounds. Her cuteness is impossible to resist, and she’s just as energetic as her momma! While Sally is outgoing and loves people, she also enjoys her alone time and can often be found hanging out on her own. She’s getting the hang of using a ramp to get on and off furniture at her foster home, and she’s working on her house training. Sally isn’t a fan of loud noises or sudden movements, so she’d do best in a quiet home and we recommend no young children. Likes: Eating Snuggling with Patty “Boxing” with her foster mom Kongs filled with frozen treats Boiled cabbage Together Patty and Sally’s bond is truly heartwarming. It’s clear they adore each other, but they’re not overly dependent—they just love spending their time together. They sleep happily side-by-side in their crate each night and get along great with their three big foster siblings. They’re respectful of everyone’s space, and with proper introductions, we think they’d be just fine with cats too. These two will keep you laughing and smiling all day long! Because of their high energy, Patty and Sally need an owner who can provide both physical and mental stimulation. When they arrived at their foster home, they didn’t know any rules, boundaries, or commands. Now, they’re learning and thriving! They already know “Sit,” “IN” (for crate), “Come,” and how to wait politely for meals. Although they’d never admit it, they’re eager for structure and would love someone who will continue teaching them how to be the best girls they can be. They're both food motivated, so training should be fun and easy. They also love their walks and enjoy exploring the world around them. If you’re ready for a life full of love, laughter, and adventure, this dynamic duo might be the perfect addition to your family. Because of their small size, they’re best suited for homes with children over the age of 12 who are respectful of dogs. Are you ready to make your life twice as fun with Peppermint Patty and Sally? The adoption donation fee for Peppermint Patty and Sally is $700, which includes spay, routine vetting and a microchip. They are a bonded pair and must be adopted together.
