Quick Facts Name: Beau Age: 4 years old Gender: Male Neutered/Spayed: Yes Breed: Jindo Shepherd Mix Color: Brown & White & Black Weight: 32kg All About MeMeet Beau! Beau is a 4-year-old Jindo-Shepherd mix with a gorgeous brindle coat of brown, black, and white. Weighing in at 32kg (70lb), he’s a strong, intelligent boy who has overcome a lot—including recovering from stage 2 heartworm (treated in July 2024). He was rescued from the Yongin City Pound and has since blossomed into a loyal and playful companion who just needs the right home to call his own. My PersonalityBeau is a confident and affectionate boy who loves people—he’s just as happy cuddling up next to you as he is romping around in the yard. He approaches both friends and strangers with a wagging tail, and once he knows you, he’ll gladly roll over to show his belly. He’s calm and gentle when inside or relaxing but lights up with energy when it’s time to play. He does have some shepherd-like sensitivity and alertness, which makes him very responsive to training and eager to please. Social SkillsBeau generally gets along well with other dogs and has lived with many. He’s social and playful, but not every first meeting goes smoothly. He has shown occasional reactivity toward smaller male dogs, especially if he feels challenged or the other dog runs away. In rare cases, he has chased and initiated conflict. However, if the other dog stands up to him, he tends to back off. Beau would thrive in a home where introductions to new dogs are done gradually and under supervision. He may do best as the only dog, or with a calm, confident companion. He hasn’t met any cats, so we don’t yet know how he’d react. Energy and ActivitiesBeau has a medium energy level. He enjoys getting outside to explore and play, and while he loves to move, he also tires quickly. After a good session of exercise or play, he’s perfectly content to sprawl out and snooze—anywhere, anytime, no matter the noise or activity around him. He loves his walks and generally follows well on a leash, though he can pull at times. He is very food motivated, so redirecting his attention with treats is usually easy. He can jump high—really high. A standard yard fence may not be enough for him. He has cleared a 120cm (4ft) fence from a standing position, so any adopter must be prepared with a tall, secure enclosure or supervised outdoor time only. Training and HabitsBeau is polite with food and will happily share space with other dogs during treat time, though he’s currently fed separately just to be cautious. He is not possessive with people or toys and doesn’t bark much. He prefers to do his business outside and is not known to use indoor potty pads. He’s crate-trained, calm in the car, and easygoing in new environments once he feels safe. My Ideal HomeBeau would do best with an experienced adopter who understands big dogs and is prepared to manage introductions to new animals thoughtfully. A home without small dogs or unstructured dog parks would be ideal. He needs space to run, secure fencing, and someone who can give him structure, exercise, and love. If you’re looking for a smart, loyal, and stunning companion who can keep up with you on hikes or join you for chill days on the couch, Beau might just be your perfect match.
