You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.*** Check Out My Video Album Below! *** Shadow is a giant love bug who came to rescue after being surrendered to a kill shelter by his owner for roaming. Luckily, we were able to save him just in time, and we know that with proper structure and care from a responsible, Pyrenees-informed owner, Shadow's roaming days are behind him. He is a sweet boy who likes the company of other dogs, spending time basking in the sun, and staring lovingly into his people's eyes. He’s a follower, and needs another dog in his furever home. A 5’ fenced in yard would be great too! He adores people and getting attention, and will give you the Pyr-Paw to ask for pets. He’s a giant boy and will lean into you and follow you around, hoping for more hugs and cuddles! He did well meeting the resident cat, giving gentle sniffs. You might notice in his video that Shadow was sporting a super-short haircut, which he received when he first came into rescue. But now his gorgeous fluffy white coat is back, completing his majestic, classic Pyrenees look! If you have space in your home and heart to show a sweet, deserving soul the perks of a comfortable life, Shadow just may be your next best friend! - Written by K.P. If you call or e-mail you are reducing your chances of adopting this animal as we direct our time and energy to first serving those who apply. NYS Registered Non-Profit Rescue # RR102. National Great Pyrenees Rescue (NGPR) has been rescuing and adopting out Great Pyrenees since 2006. Our relationship doesn’t end with adoption, as we continue to support adopters throughout the lifetime of their dog. Our goal is to assess every application on its own merits. Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority. April 2, 2025, 1:48 pm
