Currently Living at: Foster in the DC area I am Looking For: My loving forever family! Hi! I'm Frank Gallagher, and I am a sweet kitty! I won’t ask for much- just some love, cuddles and lots of toys so I can run and play and be myself. What My Foster Says About Me: Frank Gallagher is incredibly cute and a total lap cat that loves, loves, loves to cuddle. He’s almost always easy to pick up and he’s very easy to hold or carry; he relaxes and purrs in just about any position, including draped over a shoulder. We’ve often remarked that he’s more like an infant than a cat in this way. He often runs to jump in our laps, especially if we pat our legs or the chair or sofa. He’s an active cuddler who will often reposition himself, but he rarely leaves unless it’s to cuddle with someone else. He will lie on your legs, but often prefers to be higher. Sometimes he’ll rest vertically with his feet on your lap and his head on your chest. Other times he will lie across your chest, over a shoulder or around your neck. He just loves to be with his people, and might prefer to snuggle you all day if he could. He even makes a heartbreaking cry when you try to move him or put him down, although we’ve learned a few tricks to avoid that. When he’s not lying with you, he does usual cat things. He likes to sleep in the sun and on soft blankets, and hide in boxes. He likes playing with a cat dancer and likes to hide and pounce on it. He also gets zoomies at time, one of the few times he is hard to pick up. He loves horizontal scratchers, and we swear he seems to let out frustration that way (e.g., after we put him down or give him a pill). Frank is super duper cute and handsome at the same time. His fur is beautiful, silky and soft, and his eyes seem to be extra big and expressive. His contrasting white eyebrows help with that. I’ve often said his eyes remind me of Boo, the little girl from Monsters, Inc. He’s sort of got a cartoon cat look in general. His face shape is like Tom from Tom & Jerry with his long cheek fur that sticks out to the sides. And his facial coloring and yellow eyes remind us of Snowball from The Simpsons. Frank Gallagher is special in other ways, too. He’s recovering from a non-contagious ear/skin condition that made him super itchy. He lost some fur around his neck and ears from his scratching, poor guy, but it’s growing back nicely. As part of his recovery, he’s on a special diet and takes medicine twice a day. He also wears a suit and sometimes a cone to keep him from hurting himself with his scratching. He definitely seems to be improving. Frank was a little timid when we first brought him here to foster. He quickly opened up to cuddling, though, and got more and more confident. That said, his skin/ear condition was a lot worse when we got him, though, so he may be more comfortable and confident when he goes home with you. We definitely noticed that he got more interested in playing and zoomies after he’d had a couple weeks to recover. Frank Gallagher is really wonderful. We’re very fond of him and can’t wait to see him find his future family and forever home.
