My story

This sweetheart is Alma! She arrived at the shelter as a lost dog on 3/18, and no one has come to reclaim her. The volunteers have enjoyed getting to know Alma and just adore her! They describe her as loving and easygoing. Despite the horrible hack job someone did on her ears and tail, she still trusts people. If you have a soft spot for the dogs who may get overlooked in the shelter for various reasons please come meet Alma! She would be a great companion for someone looking for an older/more mature dog. Alma knows how to sit nicely when asked and she is gentle on leash. She would love to be your walking buddy! Alma is approximately 7 years old and weighs 63 lbs. She is UTD on vaccines. Alma tested positive for heart worms but has been treated at the shelter and is now ready for her forever home. Dogs who are treated for heartworms usually go on to lead a normal and healthy lifespan. Alma has a slight heart murmur so she cannot be spayed here at the shelter. Alma is waiting so patiently in run 48; her ID # is 8823. Note - all the listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers. If this cat or dog came in as a lost animal, we do not know how they might be with children, other pets, or if house trained. You can bring your pet to the shelter for a meet & greet with your potential new best friend. When inquiring about a cat or dog, please use THE ID NUMBER. This pet is available for adoption from Cobb County Animal Services, 1060 Al Bishop Dr. Marietta, GA 30008, (770) 499-4136. Shelter hours: Tues. - Sun. 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., closed Mondays & Holidays. The adoption includes shots, altering, a heartworm or combo test and a microchip.
