My story

Martin is a friendly light yellow-orange kitten who came to us from Vance County Animal Services with Bam Bam, though they are not siblings. He is very playful and would love to be adopted into a home with another kitten as a playmate, or where there are other animals or children to keep him entertained. Aprox. DOB: 03/11/19Please be advised that we have a policy of not adopting out kittens until they are four months old, and then only to families with no children under the age of six years. We require that kittens be adopted in pairs until they are five months old, as they are very bonded to their siblings and can become quite depressed and stressed due to the separation. Kittens must be at least 9 months old before they are adopted into homes with children under the age of six years.If interested in adopting from the Goathouse Refuge, please plan to take the following steps required in our adoption process:1. Come for a Visit: No appointment necessary: just drop by during our normal visiting hours of noon-3 PM. We're open seven days a week, including holidays, though if visiting during the week we ask that you call our office in advance at (919) 542-6815 and confirm availability of our staff.2. Complete our online application: Visit our website (click link above or go to www.goathouserefuge.org under the 'adopt' tab.3. Home Visit: All adoption applications will be reviewed by the refuge staff, and if the applicant seems to be a good fit for the cat(s) of interest, the refuge will contact the interested party to set up a home visit. Only after a representative of the refuge conducts a home visit will the refuge then consider continuing with the adoption process.
