My story

I am in a foster home and not at the shelter. If you are interested in adopting, submit an adoption questionnaire by email. Learn more hereDaiya is a darling 7-year-old bully mix, weighing in at 59 pounds of pure love. With her ever-wagging tail and signature happy smile, she’s always ready to brighten your day. This sweet girl absolutely loves bathtime—so much so that we’re convinced she might be part otter! Technically a senior, but Daiya’s still got plenty of playful energy and loves to trot around and enjoy the outdoors. On a recent field trip, she hopped right into the car, eager for her outing. She did great on leash, only pulling a little at first before settling in. Daiya is curious, showing polite interest in people, other dogs, and even small animals but is easily redirected. She takes treats super gently and knows how to sit. When it comes to meeting other dogs, Daiya is independent and mostly does her own thing. She might prefer being the only dog at home. Daiya is a friendly and easygoing. Whether she’s soaking up pets or leaning in for snuggles, she’s a great companion for anyone looking for a loyal and loving best friend. Follow her in foster with @kwinquist on Instagram, and click here to learn how to adopt and submit your adoption questionnaire.         View this post on Instagram                       A post shared by @kwinquist           View this post on Instagram                       A post shared by Oakland Animal Services (OAS) (@oaklandanimalservices) May 16, 2025, 3:07 pm
