EMERGENCY PLACEMENT DEADLINE5pm TUESDAY AUGUST 5, 2025 Available for Adoption or Foster Through PACCName: Primrose Animal ID: A810612 Age: 2 years Weight: 34.5 lbs.Web Link: 24petconnect.com/PimaAdoptablePets/Details/PIMA/A810612About Primrose: Primrose is a beautiful 2-year-old sable Boxer mix who is urgently looking for her forever home. She first came into our care when a PACC officer confiscated multiple animals from a neglect case, so her journey has been a bit difficult.Primrose was placed in a foster home on July 1, 2025, but unfortunately, she was returned to the shelter just a six days later for a 10-day quarantine. Her foster reported that while attempting to re-leash her, Primrose was startled and bolted. When the foster grabbed her collar, Primrose bit them on the ankle.Though she is a sweet girl, Primrose needs a home with someone who understands that she is still learning to trust people. In the shelter, she participates in daily playgroups where she is tolerant and mostly keeps to herself. Her foster parent said that she was generally calm in their home, but when visitors arrived, she would get nervous and retreat to her safe spot. To help her feel comfortable, it may be necessary to keep Primrose in a separate room away from guests.Primrose is not the type of dog who will want to cuddle; she avoids people when she can, so it`s important not to force her to socialize with forced handling. She is also a flight risk, so she will need to be on a leash any time she is outside and must have a secure yard to prevent her from attempting to escape. Primrose would greatly benefit from a home with a confident dog who can show her the ropes and help her build confidence. If you are a patient, understanding person who can give Primrose the space and time she needs to blossom, please come to PACC and ask to meet her.Home Management PlanBite History • moderate bite- victim grabbed her collar, startling her and she bit them on the ankleShy/Nervous Behavior: • Primrose needs patience and time to decompress at home. • Go slow and don’t force handling, use positive reinforcement to earn trust. • May not be immediately affectionate after adoption and will take time to warm up.Flight Risk • Primrose needs to go home with a strong handler. • Keep a dragline on them for at least two weeks; this will help you handle the dog more easily. • When ou
