My story

Meet Bernadette! She is an absolute sweetheart and has possibly the cutest underbite ever. Bernadette was brought to a shelter by Animal Control after being found as a stray in heartbreaking condition. She's settled into her foster home beautifully, and is really starting to open up and let her personality shine as she gets more and more comfortable. Bernadette loves humans and is happiest just hanging out with her foster family, snuggling, being loved, and folding herself into whatever is going on. She also loves soft treats, naps, and giving herself a backscratch by rolling around on the carpet. She is curious and always eager to explore - she'll slide right through her gate the moment her foster mom opens it and just keep right on going! Bernadette has some health issues caused by a lifetime of neglect but has been so friendly and easy to handle as we've started to address them. She has some trouble seeing and needs to be carried down stairs, and she's working on her housebreaking and making great progress. Her ideal family will love cuddling with her, have a generally calm and quiet household, and be able to provide her with structure and routine. Bernadette is such a good girl who just wants to love and be loved. She will make the perfect companion for a very lucky family! Bernadette is approximately 10 years old and 12 lbs.
