My story

Ziggy is a very good boy. He loves to go on long hikes and would make an excellent running companion. He does not pull on leash but is leash reactive when he sees other dogs. He responds well to treats and distractions to avoid this, he is also muzzle trained. Ziggy is very smart and eager to please. He loves training and learning new tricks. Ziggy enjoys a good back and butt scratch and will cuddle you after a nice long walk. Ziggy is naturally quite anxious and is currently on medication that treats this. Walks, training and exercise help him with this too. Ziggys favourite activity is playing with his flirt pole. He will chase a toy at the end of a rope all day long if he could! Ziggy can be hesitant with new people and should be ignored at first until he gets used to them. He doesnt enjoy new people fussing over him and rubbing his face/muzzle. Once he trusts you and is comfortable with a good routine, he will be the most loyal and loving hiking buddy you could ask for. Although Ziggy does enjoy playing with female dogs, he would do best as an only dog. He wants all the love. When he finds his person, he can be possessive with a select person and resource guard them.Experienced owner is a must. Please visit our website www.ittakesavillagedogrescue.com to learn more about this amazing dog and to see other available dogs.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Ziggy, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
