My story

Dinah is living in a foster home. Please submit an application from our website and/or email dogs@heartlandanimalshelter.org to learn if you are a match! Scroll through her pictures to see her cute videos! Is it "Deenah" or "Dynah"? The great thing about Dinah is she doesn't care what you call her, as long as you call her! We are *obsessed* with Dinah (and her ears) and love everything about her. We met her at CACC and we instantly fell in love. Dinah has a bit of a sad story. She was very loved by her previous owner who had to give her up due to an eviction. Her previous owner said she was good with kids and dogs. She had her since she was a young puppy. Dinah got sick with kennel cough at CACC, and a lovely foster family, with 2 kids, opened up their home for her to recover in. Dinah all better now and ready to be adopted! Dinah has loved living with kids, one of which recently had a birthday party. Initially, Dinah's foster mom thought she would put her in the bedroom but Dinah quickly became the star attraction at the party! She loved being the center of attention for a dozen ten year old girls! There were crumbs and things all over, and Dinah never went for any of it, either. She is so well behaved and house-ready! Here is what else her foster family has to say about her: "Dinah is the total package—sweet, loving, and ready to be your loyal companion. We've had the absolute joy of fostering this beautiful girl, and she has truly become part of our family. Now, she’s looking for her forever home—and we just know she’s going to make someone incredibly happy. Dinah is a cuddle bug through and through. She adores snuggling up next to you and is always ready to give sweet kisses. She has just the right amount of energy—playful when it’s time to play, but relaxed and content to chill by your side. She’s great with kids, absolutely loves people, and is very food motivated, which makes training a breeze! She’s also an excellent listener, enjoys daily walks, and thrives on attention and affection. Dinah would absolutely love a fenced yard where she can safely explore and play—though she’s happiest wherever her people are. One of her favorite things is to prance around the house carrying her plush toys, proudly showing them off like prized possessions. And while she’s not exactly tiny, Dinah definitely wishes she were a lap dog—she’ll try to curl up right in your lap for some cozy cuddles. She settles in quickly and truly just wants to be near her humans. Her gentle nature and affectionate personality make her a perfect fit for a loving home. We’re going to miss her dearly, but we know the right family is out there—ready to give her all the love she deserves. If you’re looking for a sweet, loyal, and happy companion, Dinah is your girl. " Dinah’s adoption fee is $250. This animal is spayed, up to date on core vaccines, and Heartworm negative.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Dinah, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
