Meet Keko – The Sweetheart with the Giant Ears!Keko is a 42-pound bundle of love and potential, just waiting for the right family to help her shine. This young, adorable girl originally came to us after a child in her home developed allergies. More recently, Keko returned to the shelter due to changes in her family`s circumstances—none of which were her fault. Through it all, she`s remained a gentle soul with so much love to give.Keko has a sweet and affectionate nature once she warms up to her people, and she’s been known to shower her chosen humans with kisses! She previously lived happily with a young child and another female dog, showing us that she’s great with both kids and canine companions. She’d thrive in a home that can give her the patience and reassurance she needs to build confidence and let her playful side flourish.Though she’s mostly housetrained, Keko does have occasional accidents, so a little refresher on her potty manners would be helpful. Shelter life has been overwhelming for this sensitive girl, and she’s been a bit nervous around new faces—but we know that in a calm, loving home, she’ll blossom.Keko would love to meet any potential dog siblings before heading home, just to make sure it’s the perfect match for everyone. What is an Adoption Audition? It’s a 5-day, no-strings-attached, trial adoption period. You can take this pet home to try it out! Interested? Come to the shelter any time during open hours and talk to one of our Customer Care staff!Be sure to check the “shelter information” box on the listing to see if the pet is located at our Fairfax Campus (4500 West Ox Road, Fairfax) or our Lorton Campus (8875 Lorton Road, Lorton). Then, come in during our open hours!
