My story

**SALEM HAS BEEN ADOPTED!** Sweet, sociable, splendid Salem seeks a loving forever home! This beautiful girl is an absolute gem and will bless one lucky household with a limitless amount of love, companionship, and loyalty. Salem found her way to Pal's Place from an overburdened animal control facility in Kentucky. Her breed and past are unknown, but we suspect she's a mix of several breeds combined to create our lovely, unique, beautiful Salem! Border Collie, Labrador, American Bulldog, Shepherd, Great Pyrenees, Hound, and more are all possible ancestors in her lineage. Her date of birth is also unknown, but she is a young adult with an estimated age range between 2-4 years and a current weight of 60 pounds. Salem is the kind of dog we think will fit in most households easily and will make a great companion for a family looking for a dog that is still active, playful, and fun-loving but one that also knows when to sit back and relax. She is an excellent mix of energies and is just as content cuddling on the couch as on a hiking trail. Salem is a quietly confident, friendly dog who loves people and greets everyone with a smile on her face and abundant tail wags. Her affectionate, easy-going, engaging personality is what we love most about this sweetheart, and we can't wait for this deserving girl to find her forever family. Salem is well-behaved in the home, crate trained, and does well with her housebreaking when taken out regularly. She loves other dogs almost as much as she loves humans and gets along very well with the several other dogs she shares her foster home with. Salem was recently spayed, vaccinated, heartworm tested (negative), and microchipped. With her clean bill of health, she's ready for her next chapter: a forever home of her own! Salem's adoption fee to the rescue is $375. She is being fostered on Chicago's north side and can be seen by appointment only after an application has been received and approved. For more info or an application, please email palsplace1@hotmail.com or visit palsplacerescue.org. Unfortunately, we cannot place holds on our dogs for any reason. Please do not submit an adoption application unless you are ready to meet and welcome a dog into your home within three days of applying. Adoption applications and correspondence from the rescue may end up in your spam or junk folder. If you are waiting for our reply, please check those folders regularly, and if it has been 48 hours without a reply, please follow up with an email to ensure your application was received. •Salem's adoption fee is $375. This fee covers any necessary medical care to prepare her for adoption. Pal's Place relies solely on adoption fees and donations to care for the animals in our rescue. Your donation also helps save other dogs like Salem from euthanasia. • Please email Palsplace1@hotmail.com for an adoption application, including the dog's name in the subject line. Please check your spam/ or junk folder; sometimes, the applications end up there! We are a volunteer-run organization and do our best to respond to all inquiries within 24-48 hours. • All of our dogs are in foster homes and can be seen BY APPOINTMENT ONLY after receiving an approved application. To receive more info, please email palsplace1@hotmail.com. Email is the preferred method of contact and is the quickest way to receive a response. Unfortunately, we cannot hold our adoptable dogs for any reason. Please do not apply until you are ready to adopt.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Salem (ADOPTED!), please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
