My story

Lucy MRQ S7-24-1 DOB 4/10/24 Russian Blue Mix This sweet girl is looking for parents who are patient and understanding. Lucy doesn’t do well at our adoption events. She hides in the corner of her cage and patiently waits for the event to be over so that she can go back to her foster home. She allows people to pet and hold her, heck she even allowed us to trim her nails at the last event, but we can tell that she is very uncomfortable. She gets lots of attention at the events because she is so cute and petite (she only weighs 6.6lbs), however, the “perfect” kitty parents have not come along yet. We don’t think we should bring her to anymore events because of the stress it causes her. Sooo, here we are. Lucy needs a quiet home with no children, older kids may be ok. She should also be the only pet in the home. Her parents would need to let her decompress in her time and not “force” anything. We are confident that with a little time, understanding, and lots of love, Lucy will be your best friend. Known facts about Lucy: She will take about a week to decompress and start trusting her new family. She’s super playful (loves the feather fishing pole and laser pointer). LOVES Churu’s and Temptations treats. Likes to be brushed and petted, until she doesn’t. Will make biscuits and lay next to you but may never become a “lap cat”. Other known facts: Lucy might “flare up” with her chronic rhinitis when she enters her new home. This happens when she’s put in a stressful situation. Lucy and her litter mates were very ill with upper respiratory infections when they came into the rescue. With medication, they all survived, and her siblings have been adopted. Some kitties, like Lucy, may “flare up” when placed into her new home. Thankfully, she is easy to medicate (we mix her antibiotic in Churu, and she licks it right up!). WE WANT TO NOTE THAT LUCY IS NOT CONSIDERED ALLERGY-FRIENDLY. If you feel like you can give Lucy the perfect home, AND you are the patient type, AND you are not afraid of her chronic rhinitis, please fill out an adoption application on our website, Meoowzresq.org. We would love it if Lucy could find her perfect home that she deserves.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Lucy, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
