My story

Meet the master of the glow-up: Nico! We are amazed every day at watching this brave boy come out of his shell and show us his truly vivacious personality. Nico is used to living in a quiet home and came to us through no fault of his own. When he first met us, he was nervous and unsure, but the more he gets to know you, the more he blossoms and his hidden spunky, playful side shines! For people lucky enough to be in his inner circle, Nico is a peppy, bouncy ball of fun. Give him a toy and watch him go! Nico enjoys the company of people more than other dogs, especially adults and dog-savvy older kids who can give him gentle encouragement while he’s still getting to know you. He recently went on a three day sleepover with a host family, who happily reported that he had no potty accidents and seemed well housetrained. They said, “He is an awesome, amazing dog. He is very loyal. He has endless energy and loves to play and run!” We’ve seen so much growth and progress in Nico already, and we know that the sky’s the limit for this happy boy! Do you think you might be the lucky person who gets to call Nico your new best friend? Then don’t delay–visit the Adoption Center, and help Nico start the next chapter of his “happily ever after!” Nico is also available for foster! If you're interested in more information about fostering, email Laura at fosteradmin@ashevillehumane.org.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Nico, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
