My story

The short-lived 90s TV show ALF was about a wisecracking alien who was stranded on earth and was adopted by a human family. Our Alf is not a visitor from another galaxy, but this sweet, gentle boy is sure hoping that a human family will adopt him soon! Alf is struggling in the stressful shelter environment, but his affectionate, easygoing personality is shining through and we know that this boy will thrive in a loving home. Here’s what some of Alf’s volunteer friends have said:“Alf is such a sweet, sensitive pup and one of my favorites. He is easy to leash: he can be hesitant to walk but he does well with gentle encouragement. He is very treat motivated and takes treats extremely politely and gently from your hand. He warms up with time, and I enjoy sitting in the park with him. He appreciates pets and inches closer as he gets more comfortable, enjoying ear scritches. I even got a little kiss from him the other day! I think Alf will be a wonderful companion for someone who can give him a bit of time to feel safe and show his sweet personality.”“Alf is a very sweet boy. I’ve walked him quite a few times now and have had great experiences with him every time Yesterday he was very very easy to leash and was calm in his kennel. He initially put on the brakes, so we stood for a minute or so while he regained his confidence then went straight out to the park. I sat down with him in the shade, and he leisurely approached and stood next to me. I petted him on the side of the neck, under the chin, on the forehead, and he looked like he was going to fall asleep standing! As we sat together, he seemed to relax and it warmed me heart to see him breathe a little easier for a while.”Alf has a tender heart and really needs to find a home where he can relax and decompress from shelter life.
