My story

Bentley is a 7-8 year old pit mix who is living his best life in a foster home after spending 2 years in a shelter. He doesn't recall his former life, but he is ready to start his new journey to adoption!  Don't let his age fool you; he is quite spry and light on his feet. He loves going for walks and does well on leash. He matches your pace and would make a great running buddy or Sunday stroll companion. He would benefit from a daily outing and afterward he is content to snuggle right next to you on the couch for the rest of the day. He appreciates being included in family activities. Bentley is exceptionally intelligent and in tune with his humans. He picks up on training quickly and aims to please. He knows basic commands and is both potty and crate trained. He has done well so far around other dogs and seems to prefer female companions. He has a rough and tumble play style, though he can also give other pups their space if that's not their vibe. He does have some toy guarding toward other dogs, particularly squeaky balls. This was the only toy he had to play with in the shelter, so he has developed an unhealthy attachment which we are working on together.  Bentley warms up to his humans quickly, although he hasn't been around very small children and would do best in an environment where his boundaries can be reliably respected.  He loves to give hugs and enjoys making new friends. This guy knows no stranger and expresses gratitude daily for the opportunity to be out of the shelter. Now he is looking forward to finding a home all his own. If you are interested in adopting Bentley, please fill out an application today!May 8, 2025, 9:50 pm
