My story

What my friends at ACC say about me:The staff think I would do best in a home where there are no other cats or dogs.I would do best in a home with only adult humans.I am finding the shelter a little overwhelming, but when it's just you and me and some peace and quiet you'll see what a love bug I am.I am looking for a home with a patient person.I can be slow to adjust to new environments. I prefer to take things at my own pace.I will flourish in a calm environment and a low-traffic home.I would appreciate slow introductions to new people and places to help me feel safe.I'm sensitive and shy. I'll need extra help from you.A volunteer writes: Busy paws are happy paws according to our Anakin. He's an especially playful boy who has a uniquely focused style when it comes to playtime. Though he had been in the middle of an adorably dramatic nap with his little legs stretched out of his bed, Anakin blinked himself awake and came forward when he realized I was holding a pipecleaner feather. Proudly pointing with his nose at what used to be a little fluffy ball but was now looking closer to some kind of art project, Anakin declared himself ready. Interested in any toy coming his way, Anakin reached his paws after a catnip mouse, a crinkle ball, and a snuggly stuffed sock but was decidedly less interested in pets. Swiveling his head to inspect my hand when I offered some in order to create some space, Anakin wasn't interested in scritches or cuddles, preferring instead to build friendship through play.
