My story

MEET Archie!! Archie is 15 pounds of furry cuteness and calmness. He is 7 years old and we think he is a Shiba Inu/Chihuahua/Jack Russell Terrier mix.  His very presence brings some calmness and quietness to the space around him. He comes to you when you call him and calmly stands and waits next to you for pets and rubs. Archie was rescued form the elist at the shelter and was so scared. From the 2nd day onwards he has been trusting and loving humans. He is a zen boy, very calm and content. He loves small size treats and exploring in the backyard. Sniffing is his favorite activity. We do not have info about his history before he came to the shelter, but one thing is certain, he loves and trusts humans now. He will be ok when left alone and if you are home he will follow you around for sometime, then go drink water and lie down in his favorite spot. The only thing that scares him is when we try to pick him up. Maybe he had a negative experience associated with that before or he was never picked up. Once he trusts you and your hands, he will be fine when picked up. He gets excited seeing cats and has been completely nonreactive around dogs. He is not a picky eater. He has lived with 3 cats in his foster home and has learned to understand and respond to "leave it" when he does things like getting into the cat litter box. He is adorable with an endearingly cute face and has soulful eyes like a baby deer. Archie has a heart murmur and takes Vetmedin daily.
