My story

Meet Sweet Gwinnie! This adorable, petite girl is full-grown at just 42 lbs and is ready for a family to call her own! Gwinnie is a social butterfly—she adores older kids and adults and loves making new friends. She enjoys the company of other dogs but can be a bit too playful for calmer pups. As for cats, she mostly ignores them… though the occasional playful chase isn’t out of the question! Gwinnie is incredibly smart, curious, and full of love. Despite a tough past—coming to us from Mississippi with no ears and a heartworm diagnosis—she hasn’t let it dim her spirit. She’s a champion snuggler and is looking for a foster-to-adopt home where she can continue her heartworm treatment. Second Chance will cover all of Gwinnie’s medical needs at one of our vet hospitals until she tests negative for heartworm. Interested in meeting this resilient, loving girl?
