Approximate Age: 3 year old Approximate Weight: 9.8 lbs Eanne is a loyal, affectionate dog with lots of love to give—but he also needs a savvy, respectful home that understands his boundaries. Here's what makes him special and what his future family must know: The Good Stuff: ● Loyal companion – Deeply attached to his person; follows his favorite human everywhere. ● Sweet and affectionate – Gives kisses, initiates petting, and loves attention on his terms. ● Dog-friendly – Playful and social with other dogs; thrives with a canine buddy about his size. ● Calm & quiet – Easygoing at home, not a barker or high-energy pup. ● Great house manners – Learns routines quickly, obedient, and well-behaved indoors. ● Smart & sensitive – Picks up on household dynamics fast and wants to please. ● Settled & happy – In his current foster home, he’s thriving with structure, respect, and space. The Important Quirks: ● He will bite if pushed too far – Eanne has a history of attempting to bite when his space or rest is intruded upon. He does have a bite record. ● Clear warning signs – He growls when uncomfortable, but once upset, he escalates fast. There is very little time to intervene—avoidance is key. ● Do not disturb while resting – Most of his past incidents occurred when someone approached or touched him in his resting space (bed, playpen, lounging). ● Needs his space respected at all times – He’s affectionate, but on his terms. Let him come to you. ● Not good for a typical family with kids – He should go to an adult-only home, or a home with older teens who are dog-savvy and have experience with dogs that need space. ● Not a candidate for first-time dog owners – Eanne needs someone experienced, patient, and calm who can read dog body language and respects canine autonomy. Eanne is a beautiful soul with so much love to give—but he needs the right person who will love him and respect his limits. Mixed mutt! ODHS does not breed label (unless there's official paperwork), as studies show it is nearly impossible to tell the exact breed of each dog based off of their appearance. More "sought out breeds may have a higher adoption donation) Adoption donations are to be made via cash, or credit/debit card. There is a $5 fee to run cards. We do not accept checks for adoption fees. Please remember to bring a martingale collar and leash (non-retractable) with you the day of the adoption. We typically have adoption events on Wednesdays 5-7pm, Fridays 6-8pm, Saturdays 11am-3pm and Sundays 11am-1pm. Our adoption center is located at 3602 Lafayette Blvd, Suite 101, Fredericksburg, VA 22408. It's important that you keep an eye on your emails for any changes or updates during the adoption process. Old Dominion Humane Society is a volunteer based organization. We are run completely by volunteers, who also have full time jobs, so we appreciate your patience. Currently, the average timeframe for a response to your application is 1 week.
