My story

Jackson is a one-year-old pup who is incredibly sweet but also quite shy. He is still building his confidence and learning to walk on a leash. To help him thrive, he will need to go to a home with another dog who can guide him and teach him the ropes of being a well-adjusted pup. He enjoys gentle play and would do best in a patient and loving environment where he can continue to grow. Here is what his foster mom has to say about him: Naturally he is a bit on the sensitive side, Jackson warms up quickly if allowed to go at his own pace—and once he does, you’ll have a loyal little shadow by your side. He’s a pro napper who loves soaking up the sunshine or curling up in a cozy dog bed. Jackson is crate trained, mostly housebroken, and respectful around toys and food. He’s especially comfortable around other dogs and would thrive in a home with a friendly canine companion to help build his confidence. He’s been gentle and playful with his older foster sister, always minding her space. Jackson is still learning how to play with people and can be a little mouthy when excited, so a home with older children would be best. He’s also a bit clumsy when the zoomies hit, but it just adds to his charm! He’s made great progress with car rides and is gaining confidence on walks—especially when his “emotional support dog” is by his side.If you are interested in learning more about Jackson or scheduling a meet and greet, please email the foster team at foster@cuyahogacounty.gov today. Please note Jackson currently resides in a foster home and is not available for same day meet and greets.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Jackson, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
