My story

Hello everyone meet Buddy this sweet boy is a classic black and tan GSD and a year old. He loves to play fetch chase but is very calm in the house. He's house trained crate trained a good leash walker and car rider. He's currently living with small medium and large dogs. In his forever home he would do well with a rough and tumble player he's probably too rough to only live with small dogs but if there's a dog he can play with he will leave small dogs alone. He is very shy initially with new people (men more than women) and will need a family that will give him time to adjust and when he does you'll have a very affectionate boy. The noise and movements of children cause him significant anxiety so he needs a quieter home with no children. Although he LOVES to go for a walk he's not currently confident enough to go to high traffic areas and wouldn't enjoy dog friendly bars/restaurants etc. Consider Buddy a home body who enjoys a walk in his neighborhood. He is a high flight risk dog and will need a fenced yard to make sure he's safe. He has a high prey drive so no cats. He would be okay as an only dog. Buddy had a rough start in life and he continues to work on overcoming his fears he just needs a family that will continue his journey to become a confident boy. Please visit our website www.gsdrescue.org to learn more about this amazing pet and to see other available dogs.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Buddy, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
