**Meet Chowder!** Chowder is a 6-year-old, 58 lb. sweetheart who's ready to become your loyal companion. With his loving nature and easygoing personality, he's a dog that thrives in the company of his people. Initially, Chowder can be a bit strong on the leash, especially when he’s excited or getting out of the shelter environment. But once he’s away from all the hustle and bustle, he’s a breeze to walk—especially on the greenway where he can take in the sights and sounds at a more relaxed pace. This affectionate guy is a *ride or die* kind of dog—he LOVES car rides! He'll happily stick his head out the window, relishing the wind in his face, or just sit calmly next to you. Expect a little burst of energy when he first hops in, but after about 5 minutes, he settles right down and enjoys the ride. Whether you're heading to the park or just running errands, Chowder is happy to be your co-pilot. Chowder is also a huge fan of attention and affection. If you’re the type of person who loves a cuddly, affectionate dog, Chowder is for you. He’s very much motivated by love and attention, and will happily soak up all the pets and belly rubs you can give. Treats and a bully stick are always appreciated, though he’s not too concerned about toys—he’s all about those snuggles. When it comes to grooming, Chowder is a champ. He’s great in the bath and doesn’t mind the water at all. It’s clear that he’s well-mannered and seems to be potty trained, making him an easy companion for your daily routine. The best part about Chowder? He’s just happy to be with you. Whether you're hanging out at home, going for a walk, or cruising down the road, he’s content to be by your side, making every moment together that much more special. If you're looking for a loving, laid-back dog who just wants to be your best friend, Chowder could be your perfect match! Chowder has had positive experiences with other dogs. As always, we strongly recommend bringing any resident dogs to the shelter for a meet and greet with potential new family members to be sure it's a good match. If bringing a dog for a meet and greet, please bring proof of up to date rabies, bordetella, and DHPP vaccines. To meet Chowder, text his foster mom Stephanie at (724) 601-6377 to make an appointment!
