My story

Please contact Mollie Gorney (mollieg@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.Fiona is looking for her forever home!FIONA NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!     Name: Fiona   Best Guess for Breed: Domestic Short Hair Age: 1 year as of 4/21/25 (Est. DOB 3/23/24) SEX: Female      Approximate Weight:  8 lbs as of 3/1/25 Coloring: Tuxedo  Type of Hair: Short Gets Along With: Fiona will likely get along with other cats, dogs and kids with an acclimation period.  She currently lives with a 13 year old and does great! We’re happy to help with tips and tricks! Currently Living at: DC area foster home  I am Looking For: My loving forever family! Hi! I'm Fiona, and I am a sweet girl! I won’t ask for much- just some love, cuddles and lots of toys so I can run and play and be myself. What the Shelter Says About Me: Fiona is a model for resilience! We just love her personality & markings on her face - and she just loves attention. Fiona loves rolling around and rubbing on things and people to show affection. She is calm and confident, doesn't know a stranger and warms up quickly. With all of her warm ways, Fiona has built up a fan-base among the volunteers. She entertains herself tossing and playing with toys in her condo. Fiona came in with her siblings and her eyes were constantly weeping. Her vet recommended entropion repair. (Fiona's eyelashes were rubbing on her eyes and causing discomfort/pain.) Then her left eyelid did not heal as expected so her left eye had to be removed. Thus she has a permanent wink. :) She is healing well after surgery and all this has not affected her spirit or inquisitive nature. The bonus is now her eye pain/irritation has subsided. Even this soon after surgery - her purr stays on! She recognizes people she has fun with, or who plays with toys with her and asks for more attention and time. It is truly a whole new world and life for Fiona - and you can tell she enjoys every minute! What my Foster Says About Me: Fiona is such a sweet girl. She greets me when I come back from work by rolling around on the ground (see photos). When I work from home, she likes to sleep on the ground or in the bed, watching the birds and people outside. She loves playing with bouncy balls and her toy mouse, as well as string or hung paper stars. At night, she sleeps by us on the bed.     TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for adult cats is $200 ($350 for two cats adopted together). The adoption fee for a kitten (under 7 months old) is $220 ($380 for two kittens adopted together). If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online at bit.ly/adoptaluckycat.
