My story

PLEASE NOTE: Duchess is currently in foster and not physically at the shelter. If you love hounds, check out Dutchess. Dutchess is a 1-year-old redbone coonhound that weighs 52 pounds. This gorgeous girl was surrendered with her brother Duke to a pet grooming salon and then came to us. Dutchess has a medium energy level pup that loves to explore and be outside. On walks, her nose is to the ground which is part of the hound nature. She is strong on leash and will follow the scent that catches her hound nose. She is an absolute love with people. She lived with her brother Duke and is dog-friendly. As always, a meet and greet is required with your resident dog. Cat compatibility is unknown. Dutchess is crate trained and uses the crate to sleep at night. She is mostly housetrained. She may be pee-pad trained. Dutchess is looking for an active family that will take her on adventures and walks in the park. She excels at all physical activities and play. Older children are preferred. Dutchess can be protective when eating food or playing with toys. Dutchess is available for our foster to adopt program which means you can foster her in your home until she finishes vetting which includes vaccines, heartworm testing, and a microchip.
