You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.*** Check Out My Video Album Below! *** Meet Georgia! She’s as sweet as a peach, who is gentle and patient with her puppy foster brother, and has already learned many standard commands and house skills. Georgia is a Pyrenees mix who is housebroken and walks very well on a leash. She loves to have her long, soft fur brushed and will sit for as long as you are willing to keep going. She enjoys walks, bones, peanut butter and dental treats! She is tolerant of car rides but does not like being in a crate. If a cat ran, she might try to play, but she has no prey drive and did fine meeting a couple of dog-savvy cats. She’s happy to stay near her people, although she prefers to be outside as much as possible so she can bark to her heart’s content! Georgia is much quieter when indoors, unless something catches her eye out the window that’s worthy of chatting about! This medium-to-low-energy girl is looking for a forever home where she can share her love with a family, one that can possibly include a canine brother, a dog-savvy kitty, and has a 6’ fence so she can lounge outside to her heart’s content. - Written by M.M. If you call or e-mail you are reducing your chances of adopting this animal as we direct our time and energy to first serving those who apply. NYS Registered Non-Profit Rescue # RR102. National Great Pyrenees Rescue (NGPR) has been rescuing and adopting out Great Pyrenees since 2006. Our relationship doesn’t end with adoption, as we continue to support adopters throughout the lifetime of their dog. Our goal is to assess every application on its own merits. Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority. April 15, 2025, 1:39 pm
