My story

Houston von Hamburg is a stunning, 1-2 year-old German Shepherd. This blondie is a happy boy. He steps out into the world with big tail wags and ready for adventure. At home he often leans into you seeking cuddles and rump scratches. He relishes in bestowing you with kisses and nudges your hand just to let you know he’s on your side. Houston takes treat gently and accepts corrections well. On leash he likes to explore every nook and cranny. Houston is smart: he knows sit and is so adorable when you ask him for his paw. Houston comes into a playgroup ready to make friends. He mingles around the yard and then reports back for encouragement and pets. Houston has a medium energy level. Mixes are "softer" and somewhat more malleable. Exceptions can be made, however, for first-time adopters who show the confidence and leadership tendencies that purebreds will respect and respond to. Counselors have to use good judgment in assessing the attributes of the adopter, as well as of the dog. If you have doubts, get a second opinion from Robin or another experienced counselor.
