My story

Meet Carrie Underbark! She is a two-year-old Lhasa Apso/Terrier mix who was found as a stray and brought to a high kill shelter where she was adopted and returned 13 hours later because the resident dog and cat were bullying her. We can see how this would occur as she is shy, gentle, easygoing and so so so loving. Carrie Underbark enjoys other dogs and would likely get along with cats as she is extremely adaptable to her environment. She loves kids and cuddle time. Carrie lounges in the couch most of the day and snuggles up to her person at night. She was likely left outside most of her life as she was very scared to enter our home through the back door and even cowered. She was also covered in ticks and not taken care of. We think a slower paced home who can help bring her out of her shell would be ideal for her. She is very afraid of walking on a leash and tends to freeze so we are working with her :) she also needs a little help with potty training which we are also doing. She is a great in a crate and great in the car. When left alone she is very well behaved and just lays in her doggy bed.
