My story

BREED - Beagle mix SEX - Female WEIGHT - 22 lbs AGE - 2 years If you are interested in adopting this dog, please fill out our dog adoption questionnaire and e-mail any questions to: LoisLHT@gmail.com PLEASE VISIT THIS WEBSITE TO FIND THE ADOPTION QUESTIONNAIRE: http://www.homewardtrails.org/adopt-a-pet/adoption-forms/ HOW TO MEET THIS ANIMAL: Please reach out to Lois at LoisLHT@gmail.com to set up a time to meet. LOCATION: foster home ADOPTION COORDINATOR: Contact Lois at LoisLHT@gmail.com ADOPTION FEE: $475. This fee INCLUDES spay/neuter and microchip. **Ask me about our many adoption benefits that include free exams, pet insurance, training and other discounts! ESTIMATE WEIGHT FULL GROWN: 21-25 lbs KNOWN WITH DOGS: Alani hasn't spent any time with other dogs as she's been focused on her babies. She does seem intimidated by larger dogs she's seen on walks, but wants to befriend dogs closer to her size. KNOWN WITH CATS: Alani is maybe a little too interested in her foster's cat, but not in a scary way. A dog savvy cat would work it out easily with her. KNOWN WITH KIDS: Alani gets along with gentle, well-mannered children. KNOWN COMMANDS: Alani will pick up commands quickly. KNOWN HOUSEBREAKING &/OR CRATING: Alani is mostly housetrained, but with a routine not revolving around puppies she will get there in no time. She does spend time in her crate of her own volition, but is not crated as she's busy taking care of her puppies. KNOWN LIKES: Cuddling, playing fetch, dancing, long walks in the woods. KNOWN DISLIKES: We haven't identified any dislikes yet. ABOUT THIS ANIMAL: Alani has the natural instincts of a Beagle along with an incredibly compassionate nature. Emotional Support Dog material. She's not a Velcro dog, but does prefer to have her people nearby. She loves sniff walks in any weather. She's young enough to want to be a puppy again herself! HT ADOPTION INCLUSIONS: Spay/Neuter First 3 distemper series vaccines & de-wormings Microchip - lifetime with no registration fees Current on heartworm preventative Current on flea/tick preventative EXCLUSIVE ADOPTER BENEFITS: Free first exam with: Caring Hands Animal Hospital, Palisades Veterinary Clinic, Jermantown Animal Hospital and Clarendon Animal Care and all VCA Animal Hospitals (VCA offers $250 coverage - details provided) Free online workshop with a professional dog trainer at Fur-Get Me Not within the first 30 days of adopting (in DC/Arlington/Alexandria only) A portion of EVERY ADOPTION fee supports spay/neuter for animals in under-resourced communities BE A FOSTER: Save a life: http://www.homewardtrails.org/foster-a-pet/dog-and-cat-foster-program.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Alani, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
