My story

Say hello to our boy Arlo! A lovable 4-year-old American Pitbull Terrier who weighs 62 pounds and is ready to find his forever home! Arlo came to us as a stray on February 26, 2025, and he has been nothing short of a sweet, treat-motivated delight since arriving at HSSM. Arlo absolutely adores stuffed animals so much so that he’ll often claim them as his own and carry them around. He’s definitely the kind of pup who will happily keep himself entertained with his favorite toys. He`s a very treat-driven boy, which makes him an ideal candidate for training. Whether you’re teaching him new tricks or reinforcing good behavior, Arlo will be a superstar student. However, like any dog, Arlo has a few things to work on. He could use some help with leash manners, and we strongly recommend using a harness to make walks more comfortable and enjoyable for both you and Arlo.One important note: Arlo is currently heartworm positive, but don’t let that deter you! HSSM is here to support you, and adopters receive discounted treatment to get their pups back to full health. With proper care and treatment, Arlo can be back to his playful self in no time.
