My story

Meet Cogsworth, the cute, tentative, but outgoing orange kitten. Cogsworth came to CRHS shortly before Thanksgiving after being found alone, cold, underweight and suffering from an Upper Respiratory Infection in a wonderful lady’s garden. Despite being in such a terrible state, he was determined to show staff that he had a will to live. He was a feisty little thing that was going to need extra TLC, which a loving foster home was more than happy to give him. Cogsworth is a spirited and lively kitten who finds more comfort and companionship in the other cats in his foster home than he does in humans. Watching him run through the tunnels, play with his favorite spring toys, and chase his kitten friends around brings his foster mom so much joy! ***Words from his foster mom*** “When I sit and watch him play, I can’t believe it’s the same kitten I brought home back in November. He’s made so much progress! I used to not be able to walk past him without him pinning his ears back and occasionally hissing at me but now, if he’s comfortable and I move slowly he’ll allow me to pet him, and he enjoys it! He’s still scared of fast movements and loud noises, but he’s so brave and courageous to trust me as much as he does!” Cogsworth will need a very patient and understanding family who can spend the time needed with him to gain his trust. It is likely that Cogsworth will always remain more on the spirited side but with a start to life like his, we don’t blame him. Unlike many cats, he is not food motivated, so unfortunately this will not help in the bonding process but, he does love toys! His foster mom will be sure to pass along any tips and tricks that will help gain his trust! Cogsworth is required to go home with another cat as he finds so much comfort in their company. He requires a home with no dogs, and children 13+ who are respectful and can help build his confidence. If you are interested in adopting, start by filling out an application on our website and email it to frontdesk@couleehumane.com OR you can print and drop off in person: https://www.couleehumane.com/adopt-an-animal?rq=application

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Cogsworth, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
