Benny

My story

Benny is an extremely playful cat who, like Cyndi Lauper, just wants to have fun: life is a game, and everything (including your hands and feet) is a cat toy and literally up for grabs. Benny was rescued from an older woman who loved and cared for cats all her life, but she had developed dementia as well as physical problems and did not realize that she was not providing adequate care. She had him shut up in a basement for many months, did not always remember to provide food and water where he could get to them, and had stopped cleaning his litter box. Neighbors and family managed to get Benny out of his "prison" and into a foster home, where he is a happy little monkey. He will get onto and into everything, so the best situation for him and his humans might be one without a lot of stuff and clutter around, and without delicate things that he can get to and break. And one with humans who will appreciate his antics. He really likes to be around his people, so he should not be shut up in a room by himself again, although it's fine to keep some rooms off limits to him. He likes to sleep on the bed next to you and be super affectionate (with loud purrs) when you wake up, likely in anticipation of getting fed soon, since he is still worried about getting his next meal. Benny really enjoys the company of his humans, although he is not a lap cat or cuddler. He likes pets on the head and sides of his face and scratches under his chin. He is fine with nose boops and loves to lick, but he also likes to play-bite, maybe because you taste so good! If you are a patient person who will enjoy a silly, mischievous cat and find him entertaining, Benny is the perfect cat for you! He's too rambunctious for young kids, but he might be a good fit for mature adolescents.
