My story

Meet Eclipse! This handsome, young adult, all-black boy is still a bit shy, but he`s making great strides in learning to trust. Eclipse is a quiet and calm cat, and while he might take a little time to warm up to you, his gentle nature shines through. He allows petting on his own terms when he approaches and solicits attention, but does not appreciate being approached too quickly, and may react by swiping his paws with claws retracted. Eclipse is vocal and loves to sing to you in his sweet, high-pitched meow! When held, he purrs contentedly, showing just how much he`s learning to relax and enjoy companionship.In his previous home, Eclipse did not get along with the dog in the house. He may do best as an only cat or with other friendly cats, following a proper introduction of course! Eclipse is seeking a patient and understanding adopter who will give him the time and space he needs to feel secure. With a little love and care, he`s sure to blossom into a loyal and affectionate companion. If you`d like to meet our available pets, please check the `shelter information` box on the listing to see if the pet is located at our Fairfax Campus (4500 West Ox Road, Fairfax) or our Lorton Campus (8875 Lorton Road, Lorton). Then, come in during our open hours!
