My story

Jaxson has been with us since March, and while he’s a good-sized boy at under 35 pounds, shelter life and multiple returns have made it clear he needs the right match. He’s been returned twice for his hyperactivity, mouthy behavior, and destructive tendencies when overstimulated. Jaxson isn’t a bad dog – he just needs structure, training, and someone committed to helping him succeed. The Challenges (Honest Truth): -Can become mouthy and difficult to handle when excited or overstimulated. -Has been destructive in the home without proper outlets and supervision. -Requires an adult-only home due to his intensity and behavior. Why He’s Worth It: -Under 35 pounds – a manageable size with lots of potential. -Has positive interactions with other dogs and takes correction well, though he can overwhelm calmer dogs if they don’t match his energy. -Responds to consistent training and redirection; he can be corrected and wants to please. -Full of energy, enthusiasm, and personality – perfect for someone active and experienced. Jaxson isn’t for everyone, and that’s okay. He’s searching for a unicorn home: someone patient, dedicated, and ready to put in the work to channel his energy in the right direction.
