My story

Bandit is the sweetest border collie you will ever meet. He is a gentle boy who just wants to be good -- well, and to play with other dogs!Bandit was part of a group of border collies who came into the shelter from a hoarding situation. He clearly never met anyone outside his original home, or got out into the world, so he`s been catching up on all that. He`s making progress!Bandit is about 50 lbs. He walks well on leash, although he`s pretty scared of the outside world at the moment, having had so little experience of it. So he`ll need someone willing to take it slow and help him not to be afraid of everything out there in the wide wide world. He is housebroken and he crates happily. So he`s very easy to have around. He doesn`t bark.Bandit is too nervous for a house with young children or too much rowdy activity. He`d do best with a small family or even one person. He`s also very dependent on having another dog around, so he`d do best with another dog. He`s fine with cats. We`re hoping to find this sweet, submissive boy a home with a fenced yard, where he can be his gentle self, and either worked with slowly to be more comfortable in the world, or allowed to just be a homebody. He`ll also need some back and forth visits to his new home, so that the transition isn`t too overwhelming. He`s been in three foster homes, and adjusted each time, but it`s hard to get bounced around and we want him to have the soft landing he deserves!

If you have any questions or would like to adopt BANDIT, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
