My story

Once upon a time, in a backyard filled with bouncing balls and the best sticks a dog could find, lived Sassee — a lovable, playful pup with a heart as big as her personality. Sassee wasn’t just any ordinary dog. Oh no, she was a dog who knew exactly what she liked, and she wasn’t afraid to let you know! Sassee loved to run and play, especially with her favorite stuffies. She could spend an entire afternoon barking at a shovel or poking the poop scoop in the yard, just for fun. And sticks? Oh, sticks were her favorite treasures! She’d proudly carry them around like a queen showing off her crown. Sassee also loved to play ball, zooming across the yard with all the excitement of a kid on the last day of school. But Sassee had one little quirk — walks. Walking on a leash was not her favorite thing. “Why should someone else decide where I go?” she’d huff with a dramatic little whine. And if the leash tugged even a tiny bit? Oh, Sassee would let out a yelp as if she’d just been asked to give up her favorite stick! Sometimes, she’d even turn around, as if to say, “Hey, I don’t like that!” But deep down, Sassee wanted to be brave, and with a patient and kind friend to guide her (and maybe an Easy Walk harness), she was learning that walks could actually be quite fun. Sassee was also a bit of a toy queen. She loved her stuffies and her favorite treasures so much that she didn’t always want to share them. “Mine!” she’d say (if dogs could talk, of course), making it clear that some things were just too special to give up. Because of this, she’d do best in a home without cats or small kiddos who might not understand her royal rules. But don’t let her sass fool you — beneath that spunky attitude is a dog who loves with her whole heart. She’s crate-trained, clean in her kennel, and loves being around her people. Whether she’s chasing a ball, poking at a shovel, or just soaking up love and attention, Sassee’s happiest when she’s part of the action. She’s food-motivated, eager to learn, and ready for a family who can appreciate her playful spirit and help her feel safe and loved. So, if you’re looking for a pup who’s equal parts sass, sweetness, and silly fun, Sassee is ready to be your loyal sidekick. She’s got a heart of gold and just enough attitude to keep life interesting. Are you ready to bring home a little sass and a lot of love? Sassee’s waiting!

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Sassee, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
