My story

ABOUT PERRY This gorgeous guy is a 1-year-old mix breed with lots of love to give! Perry came to HAP from a high-intake shelter in Louisiana when they no longer had space for him. Playful Perry loves a good game of fetch and is always ready to go outside and play! He enjoys going for walks and exploring new smells and environments. While he is dog-selective, we believe he could thrive in a home with the right canine companion. Perry has a soft spot for toys like bones, stuffed animals, and tennis balls. He’s easy to handle and, once he gets to know you, he’s a sweet and affectionate guy. Though he can be a little unsure of new people at first, he warms up quickly and will shower you with love. You'll know you've won his heart when he begins full-body leaning into you for some snuggles! If you are interested in adopting this dog, please submit an adoption questionnaire! Our adoption process is on a first-come, best-match basis and we are not able to hold animals. If you are interested in this specific dog but it ends up not being the best fit upon meeting, our adoption counselors will work with you to help find a match! All household members, including children and other dogs, must come along for the meeting to make sure it's a good fit. If a match is made, we encourage same-day adoptions! Our adoption fees include the animals' spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations and preventatives, fecal testing, heartworm testing, and a small bag of food to get you started.
