My story

We are at a loss for words. The neglect that Austine has suffered is real. Her tail was injured when she was found, and the bone was exposed. Her chest has a strip of skin rough and raw from whatever (we don't want to think) was pressed against it for a long, long period of time. And she is underweight. The good thing about her injuries is that she will recover. That would happen so much quicker in a home instead of a kennel. Western Ave. Chicago, IL *The building is open 12-7 daily and adoptions end one hour before closing. All visitors 18 and older must have a government issued ID. *All household members should be present to meet dogs (especially those under 18 and any decision-makers). We recommend and can arrange dog to dog meet and greets for your current dog to meet a potential dog sibling at the shelter. You will need to show proof of up to date rabies vaccination for your dog or dogs. *Slow, cautious, and appropriate introductions are recommended after you allow time for decompression for the shelter dog.
