My story

At just around a year old, Marge is a confident and affectionate Anatolian Shepherd who’s equal parts independent and loyal. She’s house and crate trained, does great when left alone, and loves walks, playtime, and being with her people. True to her breed, Marge is a big girl with a big personality. She can come on strong, especially with smaller dogs, but it’s all enthusiasm, not aggression. Marge gets along well with male dogs her size and is currently living peacefully alongside pigs, goats, and ducks. She's not a fit for homes with small dogs, and she’ll need a handler who can set clear boundaries and continue leash training, as she gets excited and will pull or bark at other dogs on walks. Marge knows a few basic commands and is eager to learn more. If you're looking for a smart, sturdy, affectionate companion who will thrive with structure and love, Large Marge might be just the right fit. At Green Dogs Unleashed (GDU), we are committed to ensuring the successful placement of our dogs in loving, permanent homes. Over the years, we have seen an unprecedented number of returns due to behavioral issues that could have been avoided with the right support. A high percentage of these returns come from out-of-area clients or those who have not completed training with us at GDU. To address this, positive reinforcement training with Green Dogs Unleashed is required for all adoptions as a condition for adoption approval. We are happy to consider adopters either in the area or out of the area who will commit to attending one private lesson with GDU, either virtually or in person, as a condition of adoption approval. Participation in Canine 101 would be ideal, but not required. At the time you are seeing this post, this dog is still available for adoption.
