My story

Lucky is a sweet-natured, gentle senior cat who has come a long way from her difficult start. Found outside alone, frightened, and emaciated, Lucky was taken in by Annex Cat Rescue and, with medical care and lots of love, has made an incredible recovery. Her general health is quite good, she’s gained weight, her soft fur has grown back, and she continues to thrive in her loving foster home.Lucky is quietly affectionate and has the most endearing ways of showing love—she’ll extend a paw toward you, make soft little chirps for attention, or roll over at your feet to show you her tummy (for admiring only, not petting!). She enjoys gentle strokes and kisses on the top of her head and will even let you pick her up, quietly pressing into your body for a moment of closeness, even though she’s not a lap cat.Though calm and quiet, Lucky also has a wonderfully playful side. She loves her toy mouse, often bringing it to her foster’s feet for a game of fetch. Her joyful antics—galloping after her mouse, sliding into rugs, or springing into the air like a bunny—bring laughter to her home. She also enjoys chasing her laser toy down the hallway, a sign of her renewed health and spirit.Food is deeply important to Lucky. After going without, she now finds comfort and safety in regular, reliable meals. She eats canned food three times a day, with Churro treat breaks in between. Mealtimes have become a strong bonding ritual, helping her feel secure and deeply connected to her caregiver.Lucky enjoys napping near a window and quietly watching the world go by. She’s independent but truly values companionship—often choosing to sit nearby while you read, work, or watch TV. She would thrive in a calm, quiet home with someone who is around often and understands that trust and affection may take time, but are well worth the wait.Though currently the only cat in her foster home, Lucky has previously lived with other cats and may do well with a gentle feline companion. She has had all her teeth removed, but that doesn’t slow her down one bit—she eats well and uses her litter box perfectly.Lucky is brave, playful, quirky, and absolutely enchanting. If you’re looking for a quiet, loving companion with a big heart and a playful spirit, Lucky is ready to meet you.Lucky is negative for FIV and feline leukemia. She is up-to-date on vaccines and has been treated for fleas and parasites. In August 2024, she had dental surgery with extrac
