My story

Sweet and gentle Sawyer is a three-year-old hound mix with a heart full of love and a shy demeanor that needs patience and care to truly shine. Sawyer has had a rough start—he recently tested positive for Lyme disease, but don’t worry, he’s already been treated is feeling his best! 💙 Despite his shyness, he has the kindest soul and just needs someone who will give him the time and love to truly shine. Sawyer is neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped, and on monthly preventatives. Sawyer’s Ideal Home: - Needs a calm, patient environment to help him build confidence - Would thrive with an adopter or foster who can take it slow and provide gentle encouragement - Must be leash-walked or supervised in a fenced yard to ensure his safety - Best suited for someone who understands nervous dogs and can offer reassurance and stability Though nervous, Sawyer’s gentle soul shines through. He is incredibly sweet, and with the right love and care, he will become a loyal and devoted companion. If you have a quiet home and a big heart, Sawyer might just be the perfect match for you. Simply visit: https://www.hoovesandpaws.org/shelterluv.html, click on the pet’s photo to view their full bio, then click “Apply for Adoption” to get started. Please give us a few days to review your application. If approved, you’ll receive an email from adoptions@hoovesandpaws.org to schedule a meet and greet (including any necessary dog-to-dog introductions). If the meet and greet goes well and you’d like to move forward, we’ll schedule a home check—this means we’ll bring your new furry friend to your home ourselves.
