My story

Whiskers is a gentle and quiet soul, with a touch of timidity. We say almost timid because while she may pull away when approached, she’s not fearful or skittish—just a cat who values her personal space. She’s not the type to seek out cuddles or enjoy being held, but she’s calm and composed, preferring to quietly observe the world from a cozy perch. That said, Whiskers has done wonderfully with our older children and younger grandkids, who understand to let the cats come to them and not to force affection. Even when a friend’s energetic 6-year-old visits and gets a bit too excited, Whiskers handles it well—no hissing, scratching, or biting, just some polite squirming to say “no thank you.” Ideally, Whiskers would thrive in a calmer home without very young children, but she can adapt if the kids are respectful of her boundaries. Just keep in mind that she’s not a lap cat—she’s more of the regal type who prefers to lounge at the end of your bed or sunbathe in the window, looking absolutely stunning. She lived peacefully with a big foster dog who has since passed, often curling up next to him, so we believe she'd do well with respectful dogs. We currently have 10 cats, and while she’s not particularly playful with them, she coexists beautifully—no drama, just quiet grace. She’s truly a Queen who enjoys her throne and keeps to herself. We’re excited to see how her personality blossoms in a home with fewer pets and more one-on-one time. With the right environment and patience, it’s very possible Whiskers could grow into a more affectionate companion. Whiskers was surrendered to us as a friendly stray. Whiskers is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, routinely treated for fleas and worms, and negative for FeLV and heartworm. Her estimated date of birth is  1/1/2023. I come with 30 days of free post-adoption support through Petcademy.org . This benefit includes free access to Petcademy's team of trainers/behaviorists, as well as access to online materials that will help me settle into your home. You can text unlimited questions to Petcademy and they'll respond within 24 hours. Apply to adopt:  https://alley-aristo.org/adoption-application/ June 1, 2025, 1:33 pm

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Whiskers, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
