My story

Sir Lancelot has been through a lot.   He was very overweight, matted beyond belief and not happy.  He had been left alone in an apartment and had a kind person going over to make sure he had food/water and litterbox was scooped.  Eventually things worked out and he made his way to us.The first order of business was getting him to the vet and getting him evaluated!  He was sedated for that visit and was shaved down.  He was found to have an infection in his prepube.  We got all the stuff done!  He was given a pain shot, an antibiotic shot and given oral antibiotics.  At his follow up it great news.  The infection cleared up and he was doing well.  He was placed on a diet as he could not even clean his own butt.  He has lost sufficent weight, his health is good, so it is time to find this old man his own home.Things to know about Sir Lancelot!  He does not like to be picked up.  He will tolerate it, however, he is not a pick me up and carry me around guy.  He will walk into a carrier of his own free will. He would acclimate to a home being the only cat very well.  He may even acclimate to another older cat.  It may take a bit of time however. He is front declawed.  However, he has no litter box issues. He does love to be pet.  It may take a hot minute for him to get to trust you, but slow and steady wins the race with this guy.  His growl is big, but as long as you respect his boundries he's good.   His fur is growing out.  His fur was long when he came to rescue.  So eventually he will be long haired unless his new owners opt to keep him shaved.   He is currently on a diet.  The calories needed per day will be passed to the new owner so that his diet can be followed until he is at the correct weight, at which time his calories per day can be increased.  He is currently on a diet dry food and regular wet food.  His diet will most likely always need to be measured so that he does not get overweight again. If he needs medication, he is happy to eat it in his wet food! He does really like Churu. Those are great motivators for him.  Bloodwork was done and it was all great! He is truly a lovely guy.  He deserves a home where he can be him and be loved as he is for the rest of his life.  He will thrive in a loving home. He does love to play with toys!   Older children would be okay as long as they can respect his boundries.  No young children.Sir Lancelot would be a wonderful addition to a home.  He will not be cuddly at first, but he may very well start to love cuddles.  He is very deserving of a loving home and a loving family.  He truly will do nothing but thrive. You can meet Sir Lancelot at the PetSmart in Wentzville. If you have any questions about this handsome older gentleman, please contact us!May 15, 2025, 1:41 am
